Ed Riley
Keyboards and Vocals
Ed was always surrounded by keyboards as he was growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, only problem is he never played them. One day while in seventh grade his Dad traded in the family’s old "home organ" for a rock keyboard and amplifier. The first song he learned was “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals.  He soon found others at his school that played guitars and together formed his first group called the Penny Arcade which lasted for a few years. Ed (now equipped with a Hammond & Leslie) together with his incredible guitar player Eric Martel formed a new band from members of other bands around the Des Moines area. Together with Marvin Jones on bass, John Hardgrove on drums, Pat Flowers doing vocals and Chris Patterson running the sound they formed Wichita Flash. This band was highly successful. After almost completely paying for Ed's college the band broke up, but not until they played the famous Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. The Surf was the last place that Buddy Holly played before his plane crash.
