Rich Lear grew up in the ghetto suburb of Belmont located in Lincoln Nebraska in the early 1950's. He got his first guitar at age ten for Christmas in 1963, a Kay acoustic guitar. His first major influence was trying to play along with Ricky Nelson on The Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet. He continued playing through Jr. High and High School in bands such as Hudson Bay Co. and DaVinci Creation in Lincoln in the early 70's.He started promoting concerts in the Lincoln area with some childhood friends with a company they formed called Belmont Enterprises Inc.
Rich moved to Colorado in 1975 for his third love after Family and Music and that was his need for speed on the slopes. Rich has resided in Colorado ever since. He and Werner were neighbors briefly in 1982 and played together occasionally. His musical influences include the likes of BB King, Buddy Guy, JR Wells, various southern bands. One other influence he likes to mention is his Boo Brother, Brent. He especially would like to thank his family and friends for their constant support. .
